My study program

Image
Hi! This is a special day for me. I already have performed all my tests of this week! Also, I will receive my new smartphone! The one I am using now has accompanied me for long five years, so I am feeling really excited 😊😁. Furthermore, I am planning to go to the cinema and watch "Cabros de Mierda" a Chilean movie. I have many reasons to feel happy! Now, let's get to the point. My career, Natural Renewable Resources Engineering, is not perfect. Originally, the study program was made on the way, teachers and students. Considering that, the program is very good, but there are a few things I would like to modify. First, there should be a field trip every year to distinct places or zones of the country, so we could get to know different realities, cultures and ecosystems, things that are indispensable for our professional performance. On the other hand, there are some teachers that do not manage to transmit what they are supposed to, so all students are left with an

Summer plans☀🏄⛺

Hi! The end of the term is very close and everybody is stressed, even me! At university, the following two weeks are full of tests and final reports, it is a kind of conspiracy against us all (students). I am afraid tomorrow will be the last day I will be able to breathe calmly. I can't wait for holidays!! I need some rest. But there is an obstacle between vacations and me: 💣⚡⚡PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE⚡⚡💣 As soon as I finish my exams, I will have to work in something related to my career for the first time in my life! It last for 200 hours, so if the job is full time, I should be free after five weeks. I am kind of excited and afraid at the same time haha! Something bad about it is that I don't know yet if I will get any wage 😢. Spending my vacation time should not be for free, that wouldn't be fair. During that period, I would like to spend time with some friends that I don't usually see while we are in classes. We have been planning to go to the seaside or camping

Addictions☠🚬💉

Image
Hi! Finally a topic not related to our studies. I think I have never been addicted to anything, maybe just chocolate, but I can't assure it because I don't know much about this subject. So, I will do a quick research not to start writing here without any understanding of it... The first thing on the list: Wikipedia research. "Addiction is a brain disorder characterized by compulsive engagement in rewarding stimuli, despite adverse consequences". This definition makes me think that "addiction" is more than drugs, alcohol or smoking. Indeed, there are also addictions to gambling, shopping, caffeine, food, hoarding, workaholism, and even, video games. Summarizing, we could be addicted to ANYTHING, so watch out for yourself. Anyway, let's not get into panic mode. There are some risk factors like: Age: adolescence is a special period of vulnerability. Once they are addicted, they are more resistant to treatment and tend to relapse. Genetic fact

Postgraduate🎓 Studies📚

Image
Hi! I am so tired; the last two weeks have been awful and this torture is not over yet! Even this weekend I have a test that goes on for three days. God, take me with you please! Anyway, I hope you are hanging out better than me. Now, let's get into the topic that summons us. I am currently in the 8th semester of the undergraduate program, so I have left a bit more than a year to become a Natural Renewable Resources Engineer. So, during the latest months, my concern about what I will do after getting my first degree has increased. For now, I tend to continue studying a postgraduate. However, before making a choice I must investigate about my options. Starting by the closer ones, which means at the same School I am right now, there is only one intermediate degree that catch my attention, it is 'Water and Environmental Management', which includes topics like: 'Integrated Water Resources Management', institutions, economics and public policy. Then, if I look

JOB🌱♻💼

Image
Hi! OK, this is a difficult topic. I have been asking myself what kind of job I would like to have for a long time. Lately, the answer is becoming more and more necessary, considering that I have only 2 semesters left to get graduated. It is hard for me to imagine myself in a regular job related to my career, like a consultant or an environmental educator. Actually, I can't imagine myself doing the same thing every day. I think knowing that is a beginning. Among the things I have learned at University until today, I have had a great interest about 'global change'. I would like to keep learning about this subject and someday manage to do something significant to reduce our vulnerability against this new type of risks, or facing change with some improvements of our social adaptation. I think that the job that would allow me to reach that goal should be a public service position, or maybe a NGO researcher. The perfect job for me should be half indoors and half outdoo

Global ☼ Warming ☁ ☃

Image
Hi!! Today we have a trending and serious topic: GLOBAL WARMING. Recently, hearing about this concept is becoming more and more common. Nowadays you can find it on climate reports, news and TV shows. Even politicians discuss a lot about it, maybe because environmental movement has become big enough to influence the elections. So, people everywhere are talking about it all the time; even so, some of them don't really understand what they are talking about! Then you can see in protests signs like those above on the photo. That is the reason why you MUST read what is coming next: the main difference between "global warming" and "climate change". Guess what: these two terms are not interchangeable. "Global warming" is one of all the aspects of climate change; it refers to the rise in global temperatures due mainly to the increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. They are water vapor, Carbon dioxide, Methane, Nitrous oxide,

Movies!! 🎬🎭

Hello, my friends!! Today we have a very interesting topic: Movies!!! 🎬🎭 I have always loved watching films. Since I was a little girl, I remember that it was one of my favorite activities. Nevertheless, my taste has changed over the years. When I was four years old, my favorite film was " 101 Dalmatians" . Nowadays, my mom still complains because she had to watch it with me like a hundred times. Ten years later, when I was 14 years old, my favorite kind of film was fantasy. At that moment, "Harry Potter" and "Aslan", "Chronicles of Narnia's hero", played a very important role in my life. Almost nine years later, at 22 years old, I have no preference for any specific kind of films. Sometimes I prefer drama movies, like " Ana Karenina" , " Schindler's List" or " Million Dollar Baby" . Their arguments have nothing in common, but I love the way of telling you the story. Some other times, I pr
