Global ☼ Warming ☁ ☃
Hi!! Today we have a trending and serious topic: GLOBAL WARMING. Recently, hearing about this concept is becoming more and more common. Nowadays you can find it on climate reports, news and TV shows. Even politicians discuss a lot about it, maybe because environmental movement has become big enough to influence the elections.
So, people everywhere are talking about it all the time; even so, some of them don't really understand what they are talking about! Then you can see in protests signs like those above on the photo. That is the reason why you MUST read what is coming next: the main difference between "global warming" and "climate change". Guess what: these two terms are not interchangeable.
"Global warming" is one of all the aspects of climate change; it refers to the rise in global temperatures due mainly to the increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. They are water vapor, Carbon dioxide, Methane, Nitrous oxide, Ozone, etc. These gases come from human activities: transport, land clearance, and the production and consumption of food, fuels, manufactured goods, materials, wood, roads, buildings, and services.

“Climate change” refers to the increasing changes in the measures of climate over a long period of time, considering precipitation, temperature, and wind patterns.
The following photo shows us some of the main Global Warming impacts the ecosphere (Earth) that we know may experience.
If you want to contribute to stop Global Warming, you should reduce your "Carbon Footprint", in other words, reduce the total set of greenhouse gas emissions that you cause expressed as carbon dioxide equivalent. A Key to achieve it: act efficiently. Some pieces of advice:
- Power your home with renewable energy
- Insulate your house
- Invest in energy-efficient appliances
- Reduce water waste
- Prefer vegetables over meat
Contribute with your grain of sand! See you!
Those are some good tips! but I think is necessary a politie that enforce people to reduce their carbon footprint, at least in Chile :/
ReplyDeleteWe need a ambiental economy now!!! regards Fran Gary!
ReplyDeleteNot having kids seems to be (by far) the best way to reduce our carbon footprint. At the end, the issue is that we are too many.
